A Deep EUVE Observation of PSR B0656+14
Abstract
We report an analysis of a900 ksec observation of the middle aged pulsar PSR B0656+14 using the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer, one of the last datasets obtained with this satellite. The pulsar is detected with both the DS/S and SW Spectrometer (SWS) instruments, yielding a light curve with a pulse fraction10% within the DS/S Lexan passband, which is consistent with earlier observations. The SWS data yields an apparently featureless continuum spectrum reminiscent of RXJ 185635-3754, and is consistent with X-ray model fits based on ROSAT &recent Chandra data. The results of this analysis are discussed in the context of on going models of neutron star thermal emission.
